Keynote: What does the Science of Reading Mean for the Content Area Teacher?
In today’s classrooms, educators are tasked with guiding students beyond surface-level reading to achieve deep comprehension of complex, content-specific texts. The Science of Reading offers a transformative, research-backed framework to meet this challenge head-on.
Join us for this dynamic keynote, designed specifically for K–12 content-area teachers. Discover 8 Science of Reading Practices that empower educators across all disciplines to build students’ literacy skills and foster meaningful engagement with subject-specific texts.
Led by Dr. McKnight, author of The Science of Reading: Every Day, Every Subject, this session will provide practical, evidence-aligned strategies for explicit instruction, modeling, and scaffolding. Participants will leave equipped with ready-to-use routines and materials to enhance comprehension in every subject area—from science and social studies to math and the arts.
